Clear Mountain Ceramics is a small local pottery operation specialising in hand made and crafted wheel thrown functional-ware. Lindsay’s table and kitchenware is made from high-fired stoneware clay or porcelain. The ware is dishwasher and microwave proof. The glazes are leadless and food safe. Lindsay’s work is currently available at various makers markets that feature local makers including the monthly Samford Valley Market, Bardon Market and Dayboro Market. A selection of work is also available in Makers on Main, a bespoke handmade collective located on Main Street, Samford. Purchases can also be arranged through the contact page.
The Artist
Hi, my name is Lindsay, welcome to my website.
I live and play with mud amidst the tranquil hills of Clear Mountain, nestled in the beautiful ancestral homelands of the Turrbal people, north of Brisbane, Australia. Clay is my passion. I first delved into the world of ceramics when I was in high school, then studied design at the Queensland College of Art. I have been fine-tuning my skills ever since.
For me ceramics has become more than a creative outlet; it is a lifestyle. I find no limitations in ceramics. I feel I am in a constant state of discovery, unearthing new ways of exhibiting the unique properties of this medium. I’m incredibly passionate about creating unique pieces to be used every day and potentially last a life time. I’m constantly exploring the relationship between clays and my hand-crafted glazes, creating new designs and redefining old ones.
My designs are influenced by the more traditional styles of England and Japan overlayed with certain elements of current trends such as showing off a gorgeous naked clay surface wherever possible.
Thank you for visiting and supporting my mud passion, happy browsing!
